You often wonder why you received those scores at a bbq contest or do you want to get started competing in KCBS style BBQ contests? Maybe you just want to try a new presentation or flavor before the season starts. Perhaps you want to Judge some great BBQ or you just want to come have fun. Whatever your reason, this is your time to bust those judging questions you may have or tune up on your cooking and judging skills. This is a great learning experience for Cooks as well as Judges.
You are invited to join us for a weekend dedicated to the practice and understanding of great bbq and it’s all just for the fun of it. The objective to the weekend is to cook competition style BBQ while sharing information and receiving input from fellow competitors and judges. For all those who attend, we encourage openness and willingness to share information with all cookers in attendance. Hopefully as you go on to competing this year, you will be able to apply some of this knowledge to become better in these categories.
With your non-refundable $60 entry you will get 1 night at the campground, you will receive 1 Frostbuster T-shirt, a great gift bag, potluck, and a breakfast for you and your team served by the Smokehouse 72 Team.
Judging - We will have Certified KCBS BBQ judges on hand to judge your entries and give us unbiased, live on the spot feedback. The judges will be instructed to be brutally honest so we can all learn and improve this season. All entries will be judged in the typical KCBS format of presentation, taste and tenderness. 9x9 clamshells will be provided for your presentations. All KCBS garnish rules apply. Judges may also stay at the campground and mingle with the teams Friday and Saturday and ask plenty of questions. Judges wanting to stay over at the campground can contact the campground for reservations.
This event will be limited to 12 teams, so get your entry in early. First come first serve with payment. NO Entry will be complete until payment is received.

Instructions/Directions
You will be responsible for your own Greens, Meats (chicken, pork ribs, brisket, and Pork butt), and all other items needed to properly cook your product. ·
We will provide the clamshells for turn ins and pay for your campsite for 1 night.·
We welcome new teams, as well as, new judges that want to start this year in a KCBS style contest. This would be the perfect place for you to get your feet wet in competition style cooking and judging.·
